As a Christian Camp and Conference Center (GBCC) we must remain true to our Statement of Faith and Standards of Conduct. We are a faith-based organization and our reason for being is to promote and practice our beliefs. The Holy Bible is the source of our beliefs (which are not negotiable) and we adhere to what is written – it is our standard in all things.

We agree with the belief that religious liberty is rooted in Scripture and the law of the land, and it is the inalienable right of all individuals to freedom of conscience with ultimate accountability to God (Genesis 1:27; John 8:32; II Corinthians 3:17; Romans 8:21; Acts 5:29). Church and State exist by the will of God. Each has distinctive concerns and responsibilities, free from control by the other (Matthew 22:21). Christians should pray for civil leaders, and obey and support government in matters not contrary to Scripture (I Timothy 2:1-4; Romans 13:1-7; I Peter 2:13-16). The State should guarantee religious liberty to all persons and groups regardless of their religious preferences, consistent with the common good.

Statement of Faith

  1. We believe that the whole Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
  2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6; Hebrews 9:14)
  3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and man. (1 Timothy 3:16; Luke 1:35; Matthew 1:20; John 10:30; 1 Peter 2:24; Luke 24:39; Ephesians 1:20; Heb. 9:24; 10:12-14; 1Timothy 2:5,6, Col. 2:9))
  4. We believe that man was created in the image of God: that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Genesis 3:6,7; Romans 3:23; 5:12; 6:23)
  5. We believe that the Lord Jesus died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified because of His death on the cross. His death is the only atonement for sin. (2 Cor.5:21, Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9, I Peter 2:24; Heb. 4:14-16)
  6. We believe that each individual becomes a child of God by being born again of the Holy Spirit through the instrumentality of the Word of God, by repentance toward God, by grace through a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:3; 16-18; 36; 14:6; Ephesians 2:8,9) 7
  7. We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present life for us, as High Priest and Advocate. (Daniel 12:2; Revelation 20:11-15)
  8. We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, for His saints. (I Tim.6:14, 2 Tim. 4:1, 8, Titus 2:13)
  9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the eternal punishment of the wicked. (John 6:39, John 5:28, 29, Rev. 20:6, 14)
  10. We believe that believers in Christ are to live a life that is separated unto God, dedicated to the service of Christ (Colossians 3:17) and to abstain from all filthiness of the flesh and of the spirit (2 Corinthians 7:1)
  11. We believe that the Church composed of all persons who truly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal and only Saviour is a body of believers whose responsibility is to witness by life and word to the truth and to proclaim the gospel to all nations.
  12. In the beginning, God created male and female in his own image. (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 5:2, Matthew 19:4, Mark 10:6). In the beginning, God also instituted marriage between one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others for a lifetime. Any sexual relationship outside of God’s plan for marriage constitutes sin. (Genesis 2:20-25; Malachi 2:15,16; Romans 1:21-27; 1 Corinthians 6:12-7:40)
